Our Mission
The Way Out Women’s Center Roadmap
First Step.
A 10 day, detox and residential program for a woman who wants to stop drinking or using, but cannot. They are provided with the support and resources to achieve sobriety and build a foundation of recovery.
Second Step.
Our Steering Committee works with our residents to locate and secure their next step on their journey, such as residential treatment, sober living or mental health services in our community. They are provided with support and structure to sustain their recovery while growing in their knowledge of 12-Step spiritual principles.
Third Step.
Meetings and Fellowship. Our residents are exposed to daily 12-Step meetings in person and online. They are taught how to participate in these meetings and find 12-Step meetings anywhere they might be. We provide help in assisting our residents to find sponsorship and a home group.

Testimonial
I’m Jordan and I am an alcoholic. My sobriety date is May 20,2018, and I owe my deepest gratitude to the Way Out Women’s Center.
I was raised by alcoholics, and from an early age, life was a party. My disease took me to the darkest alleys and deepest depths of desperation. My alcoholic career started at the young age of 12. Even though life felt like a party and a lot of it was fun – the big book says, “ to be gravely affected, one does not necessarily have to drink a long time, nor take the quantities some of us have. This is true of women. Potential female alcoholics often turn into the real thing and are gone beyond recall in a few years.” At the age of 28, my spirit was broken and my life had become truly unmanageable. My life spiraled out of control so quickly so I decided to leave my little hometown, Cottage Grove, Wisconsin and head to the big city, Houston, Texas.
